Identity

“Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.”

~Maya Angelou

Who am I?

The old categories, definitions, and paradigms that once helped define us are collapsing. It’s exciting to no longer be rigidly defined, but it can also be quite confusing and disorienting.

Identity today means to hold contradictions within oneself, to be this and that. A strong identity means to be unafraid to hold complexity and ambiguity (etymology of the word: double meaning).

When we turn to our culture, we can see expansion in sexuality, relationship configurations, gender identity, mixed-cultural identity, mixed-race identity, multiple career interests, and more.

If there’s no label, then what?

In this moment in time, our culture, religion, and nationality cannot define us the way it once could. Being clear about who you are, what you are, and how you do it could not be more essential to your well-being.

This is a major area where people lose their energy and self-confidence. To feel whole, it is essential to know where you came from, how your history has impacted and shaped you, what your values are, and how you want to proceed aligned to your true self.

The current generations are path-forgers to a new paradigm, but it is not fully here yet. When you do the work of shedding old systems, preserving and integrating what’s worth keeping and move forward honoring your true self, you heal yourself and evolve a culture.

It is easy to live an inherited narrative each day, with little reflection on the gravity of it. Let’s discover where you have come from, what you are experiencing now, and what you are meant to live out in order to feel confident and fulfilled in this life.

Know and like yourself

The current economic market likes to tell each of us – you are not enough, something is wrong with you, and you are not worthy of more. It’s just not true. Right here, right now, with or without therapy, you are good, you are enough, you are worthy of life.

Let’s be radical and revolutionary- let’s like ourselves!

In our work together, I want to support you to know yourself, be present with your ever-changing self, and be fearlessly and unapologetically yourself.
